About Me
My name is Monica Lane and I am the 4th Grade Math and Science Teacher at Arts in Action. This is my third year teaching 4th Grade at AIA. I have a passion for teaching and have been teaching for six years. I was previously an English-Language Arts teacher for 6th Grade in San Diego for three years. Prior to being in my own classroom, I was a substitute teacher for Grades K-5th, long-term substitute for 2nd Grade, Assistant Teacher for 4th Grade, private math tutor, and English tutor in Madrid, Spain. I believe all students have the right to an engaging, diverse and challenging education and I continuously strive to provide that for all learners.
I was born and raised in San Diego. I received a B.A. in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from San Diego State University. I enjoy spending time outdoors in the sunshine, hiking, swimming and going to the beach. I also love going to art museums and exploring new places and trying new things.

- Hello! My name is Ms. Lane and I am looking forward to my second year at Arts in Action. This is my third year teaching Fourth Grade and my sixth year in education. Throughout my career, I have worked as a substitute teacher, a math tutor, teacher's assistant and 6th Grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher. I believe all students have the right to an engaging, diverse and challenging education and I continuously strive to provide that for all learners. I grew up in San Diego, CA and attended San Diego State University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I love learning so traveling and going to museums are some of my favorite things to do. I enjoy being outdoors, especially at the beach, exploring new areas of Los Angeles, and trying new activities and foods.
