Behavioral and Emotional Support Team
Kristin Dust, Director of Student Culture
Hello, my name is Kristin Dust, and I am the Director of Student Culture for both the Elementary and Middle School Campuses. I am originally from New York, where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work. I have worked with children and in education since 1999, and have happily been a part of the Arts in Action team since 2016. As we start the upcoming school year, it is evident that we need to provide our students with the social emotional support that they need in order to continue to grow to their highest potential. I am excited to continue to work with the students, staff, and this team to create a positive school culture and community where we can keep developing our social-emotional skills!
Elizabeth Santos, School Counselor - Middle School

A little bit about myself: I attended CSULA for my Bachelors degree in Psychology and CSULB for my Masters Degree in School Counseling. This will be my second year with AIA and my 5th year as a school counselor. I’m excited to continue working with our Boyle Heights families as well as our new families joining us in East LA. I’m here to support any academic, social/emotional, and career needs. I am also here to guide you with any other support you may need. Please do not hesitate to reach out for help or if you have any questions.
Isidro Roman, Behavior Interventionist
Hi, my name is Isidro Roman, and I work in the Middle School as the Behavioral Interventionist. I am happy to be part of the Arts in Action Community since 2017. I have worked in education for the past 10 years as a Program Leader, Assistant Teacher, and Dean’s Assistant. I grew up in Glassell Park and attended Delevan Drive Elementary, Eagle Rock Junior/Senior High School and California State University, Los Angeles. During my free time I like to stay active, watch PBS documentaries and spend time with my family.
