Hello there!
My name is Karen and I am joining the AIA Elementary family as a resource specialist teacher. I am excited to be working at AIA because I am part of a team that supports diverse learners to maximize their learning in the classroom. To share a little bit about myself, I studied psychology at UC San Diego and became very interested in the areas of child development and educational psychology. After college, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in education and worked as an assistant teacher for several years. I enjoyed my work so much that I enrolled at Cal State Long Beach and recently earned my teaching credentials. Go Beach! In my free time, I enjoy staying active. I also love spending time with my family and two dogs Coco and Pebbles.
